Corcoran Gallery of Art

I have a long history with the Corcoran from the first time walking through the doors in September of 1966 to the present.  It has not always been positive-mainly with management. The collection has suffered over the years because of an uncreative board. They gave up a contemporary art collection many years ago because they wanted to focus on 19th Century & early 20th Art.  However, I still love the Corcoran.  Currently they are having tough financial times because of the last director David Levy. They have been forced to sell property that housed the computer design and print school and The Millenium Arts Center property which was my non-profit that I founded with my own money. Corcoran came to me as a partner, did a take over and then sold it to the Rubell Family. David Levy destroyed both the Corcoran and The Millenium Arts Center.  Otherwise, do give it a chance.

The Phillips Collection is the first modern art museum in America. They had a chance to buy the best there is early on.  The famous Renoir ‘Boat Party’ is the star of the collection.
